How to Get Healthy From a Yeast Infection

You're clueless about a yeast infection, and want to know what a yeast infection is, whether you have one and how to get rid of it, right?

A yeast infection, is essentially an overgrowth of a strain of the candida yeast in your system. The yeast is always present in your system, but it is usually under control. Whenever something happens, and the natural balances that keep the yeast under control are disrupted, the yeast grows out of control and you get a yeast infection.

How can you tell you have a yeast infection?
The smell is one thing. It's just a not natural and overwhelming smell that no matter how much you clean yourself, it just won't go away.

Great, you have one, now what do you do?
1. You can go to the doctor and have them prescribe you some stuff. Your insurance may or may not cover it, who knows nowadays anyway, or you can try some over the counter stuff. There are good over the counter ointments and pills that can work to rid you of your yeast infection. Some over the counter remedies are better than others, and some are faster than others.

2. You can try to find a natural and holistic cure for your yeast infection.

What can you do that's a natural cure?
1. You can try eating some natural yogurt. Eat the yogurt, don't rub it on your privates for the best result. Apparently, the bacteria in the yogurt can help stop the yeast growth. Don't buy flavored yogurt though, it has to be the unsweetened, natural stinky nasty tasting kind. You may grow to like the taste.

2. Take garlic pills. They usually are much better for your breath than eating garlic, but I digress. Maybe you're into that sort of thing. Anyway, in some studies garlic has been proven effective against yeast infections.

3. Stay hydrated. This may seem like a no brainer, but it's important that you stay hydrated so you can get rid of the yeast by flushing it from your body. I guess I should mention to avoid drinks with yeast in them like beer, at least until the infection is gone.

4. Don't take antibiotics. Apparently, they can wreak havoc on your immune system and make it harder for your body to fight off the yeast.

If all else fails, go see your doctor. Seriously, try all the natural cures you can think of, but if they fail, good old western medicine is there for you as an option.
